I began my breeding experience with a free "sweet"
little female, named "Dolly." She was a gift from my brother-in-law, Lance... thanks, Lance for getting me started in this!
:-) Later, I began questioning why Dolly didn't have a LONG coat, a BOXY muzzle, or look "the way we wanted her to look."
We discovered that she simply had no champion quality behind her - on either side. After MUCH research (reading books, going
to dog shows and speaking with show people) knowledge was obtained and we were able to upgrade Dolly's lines. This challenge
would have NEVER taken place without the help of some great friends (Pat Pitts, thanks for helping me achieve the look I was
striving for!) along with some show homes in Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee. Also, I owe a lot to a couple ladies here in Pensacola,
Nancy Jones and Dr. Cheryl McNeil, for steering me in the right direction. They encouraged me to study the breed, the "standard"
and to do what I could do to "BETTER" the line, as a RESPONSIBLE breeder.
Raising cockers has certainly been a FAMILY
hobby. I could have never made it without the help of my husband, Gil, and my deceased but FOREVER LIVING IN OUR HEARTS, dad,
Mr. Ard...along with Herb - the WORLD'S GREATEST HANDYMAN - they have built (and rebuilt - after Ivan!) and kept everything
maintained through the years with me!
With the loving help of my three daughters through the years, we've "bred up"
Dolly's same line and now proudly own all CHAMPION BLOODLINE COCKERS. Through our enhancements and blood, sweat and tears
(WHEW - literally!) our pedigrees now ALL carry between 20-something and 40-something champion showdogs! (*THANKS SOOO MUCH,
JENNY, LYNN & JULIE*)
LAST OF ALL, A HUGE THANK-YOU to Julie for becoming my kennel ASSOCIATE and CO-OWNER! She fully
manages things for me now that I am a grandmother! Julie is a great groomer and has a kind heart... she gives an abundance
of TLC, socialization and care to our adult dogs and each and every puppy we raise! Without Julie, I COULD NOT do this.
Thanks again to my friends and family for your support! Barbara Richards

My

and white parti female, as a puppy... Now "Lady
Bug" is in our breeding program and produces some beautiful parti pups for us.

Here
our PRECIOUS little grand-daughter is holding hostage a GORGEOUS, CALM, little black & tan puppy from a previous
litter. Our puppies are all well socialized and love children! (This puppy was 10 weeks old in the photo...you
can tell how much the ear leather comes on down as they grow and mature!) We raise some BEAUTIFUL black & tans.
We
socialize each puppy individually and also together as a litter daily. It makes a huge difference in their personality
-- they are VERY secure, calm and outgoing by being handled and socialized correctly.

We get some chocolate pups about once a year from our little brown girl,
"Richards' Ms. Chocolate E'Claire" - her call name is "Claire" - - chocolates are really hard to find
in this area.

list, please e-mail us at:

My
little grandson, Cole is pictured here holding one of our buff babies. Cole has a buff male at home, so I suppose
he is partial to buffs! Cole LOVES it when Grammy has babies!
